How to fix a broken compact?

Have you ever dropped your make-up compact before?or for some reason, the powder inside is all crumbled up?!...I have, and sometimes it does put you off from using it again. However don't go out and buy a new one, because there is a easy solution that you can do at home to fix it =) (this trick works for almost anything that is powder, E.g eyeshadow, blusher, highlighters...)

Step 1

As you can see, mine is quite damaged =S but no worries, first thing you would need to do, is using the end of a spoon (does not have to be a spoon, as long as its hard enough to crush up the pieces it would be fine). So using the end of a spoon, crush up all the big bits into pieces...

Step 2

Once you've crushed up all the pieces, use a spoon to flatten the powder...after flattening the powder, you should get something that looks like this...

Step 3

Now, you would need some rubbing alcohol, i used Boots, Surgical Spirit B.P, you can purchase this in any Boots store, think it cost around £5.
Next, i poured some of the alcohol into the cap (for easier control)

Then, i slowly poured it into the make-up compact (make sure you pour it evenly around the compact)

then you should get something like this

Step 4

Using a cotton pad, place it over the compact (it does not necessarily have to be a cotton pad, it can be paper, cardboard, or even old clothing material you don't need anymore, as long as it covers the compact).

After covering the compact, using a spoon, press firmly until you get a smooth surface.

Then let it air dry for afew hours, and its good as new, and ready to use again =)
